  • Yard Waste Collections Begin March 12

    The first yard waste collection of 2021 will be on Friday, March 12. Collections will continue the second and fourth Fridays of the month through November.

  • Village Approves Canopy Hill Development Agreement

    After several years of planning and public meetings, the Union Grove Village Board on March 1, 2021 approved an agreement with Bear Development to develop Canopy Hill, a 160-acre multi-use housing development along U.S. Highway 45, across from Union Grove High School. The development will consist of 188 single-family lots, 60 duplex two-story condominium units, 8 ranch condominium units, 50 senior housing units, 60 multi-family residential units and 18 acres of parkland. The total project is anticipated to have a valuation of $112.8 million.

  • Spring Recreation Programs

    Registration is now open for several upcoming youth recreation programs, including two new weekly instructional clinics in April

  • Union Grove and Yorkville Accepting Joint Proposals for Building Inspection Services

    The Village of Union Grove and the Village of Yorkville are requesting proposals from qualified individuals/firms/corporations to provide joint contracted building inspection services to both Villages.

  • Build Your Own Business in Union Grove!

    Union Grove’s new Build Your Own Business (BYOB) program encourages new businesses to locate downtown by opening short-term, temporary locations, which could lead to permanent occupancy in the Village.

  • Spring Primary Election Results

    A Spring Primary Election was held on Tuesday, February 16, at the Union Grove Municipal Center.  The only race on the ballot for Union Grove residents was a statewide primary for state superintendent of public instruction. A total of 129 ballots were cast in Union Grove, accounting for a 4.2% turnout of registered voters. Absentee ballots accounted for 57 (44.2%) of the ballots cast.

  • Committee Reviews Snow Removal Procedures

    Water, Wastewater, Storm Water and Streets Committee held a special meeting on February 8, 2021 to review procedures relating to hauling away snow from the downtown area along Main. St. Committee members agreed the practice of hauling snow away from the downtown area is important for safety reasons and should be scheduled whenever the banks get high enough that someone cannot reasonably step over them. It is also important for maintaining sight lines and the overall aesthetics of our downtown.

  • COVID-19 Vaccination Updates

    As of January 25, those 65 years of age and older may be vaccinated by healthcare providers, local health departments and private pharmacies. If you are age 65+ and have a local healthcare provider, your local healthcare provider should be reaching out to you, based on vaccine availability.

  • Village Accepting Applications for Utility Operator Apprentice

    The Village of Union Grove is seeking a hard-working, public-service oriented individual with an interest in a career in operating water and wastewater systems to serve as a full-time Utility Operator Apprentice.

  • Snow Emergency Declared: 11:30PM on Jan. 25 through Jan. 26

    A Snow Emergency has been declared in the Village of Union Grove beginning at 11:30 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2021, and remains in effect until 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2021. During a Snow Emergency, no parking is allowed upon any public street, highway, or alley within the Village for the duration of the snow emergency, except for vehicles loading or unloading passengers or property for a period not to exceed 15 minutes and provided that no other parking restriction is violated thereby.
