Running for Village Board in April 2022
Interested in serving the community as a member of the Union Grove Village Board of Trustees? There are opportunities to serve on the Village Board by filing nomination papers to run Trustee in the Spring Election coming up on April 5, 2022. Up for election will be Village Trustee positions #2, #4 and #6, currently held by Gordon Svendsen, Adam Graf and Amy Sasse, respectively. The deadline for filing nomination papers is Tuesday, January 4. Prospective candidates can begin collecting signatures on December 1. What does serving on the Village Board entail?
Village Board members make policy decisions, enact laws, approve an annual budget and act for the overall benefit and best interest of the Village. Regular Village Board meetings are held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6 p.m. and special meetings are scheduled as needed. Each Village Board Trustee is assigned to serve on about 3-5 committees that each typically meet on a monthly basis or as-needed, as well as the Board of Review which meets at least once annually. Village Board Trustees serve two-year terms and receive a stipend of $6,300 annually.
